The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of David Sgallata can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Remembering David(A fighter to the end)

No one knows if someone ever comes to terms with a diagnosis of terminal cancer.

I think initially you think you can beat it. In Davids case, there was no magic pill.

It was everywhere! He was told by his doctors to get his life in order and to

do the things he wanted to do.  Even when he stopped all treatment, he thought

he would have some time. What we thought would be months only ended up to

be weeks: there was no time!  David left us on Feb, 28th at 9:20p.m. into the

arms of God. His family and friends were by his side. He died at home, listening

to his music.

The David I knew loved his music, broadway shows, books

and good food. The David I got to know in five short weeks was a different David

then I knew for almost 30 years.  He was gentle, loving, kind, and through it all

had a great sense of humor.  I can not begin to explain how in five short weeks

David impacted my life.  In my heart,I know David is with his maker, at peace,

free of all his pain and sufffering and with all his love ones. His light will shine

forever in all who knew him.  Rest in peace dear David, until we meet again.

You will be missed!!

                                                    Love and Hugs,  Carol (Mom)
