Richter, Sue, 89 of Galloway Township, passed away November 5, 2013.

Sue was born in Japan in a small farming village outside of Tokyo. She was not content to be a farm girl, however, and as a teen she left for the big city of Tokyo. She worked in a government office for several years and met William Richter, who was stationed with the US Army after the war. They married and began their life together in Florida before moving to Philadelphia. Sue worked as a seamstress before she passed her cosmetology exam and beginning a career in hair dressing. She moved her family to Pleasantville in 1971 and worked at Kara-Lyn Beauty Salon in Linwood for many years under the kind tutelage of Mac and Olive Humphrey. She later worked at Claridge Hotel and Casino.

Sue enjoyed gardening, playing the horses at the AC Race Track, and playing cards with her many Japanese friends. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her first husband, William; her long-time companion, Browning Kayfield; and her daughter, Susan Richter. Sue is survived by her son, Wayne and wife, Rhonda of Egg Harbor Twp; daughters Sharon (Sherry) Williams (companion Harold Howell) of Galloway and Carol Muskett of Galloway; and grandsons Peter Williams, Adam Williams, Jack Muskett III, Thomas Muskett, and Ken Richter.

The family would like to extend many thanks to the kind and caring staff at the Health Center of Galloway where Sue was a resident for the past four years.

Visitation will be held at Adams-Perfect Funeral Home, 1650 New Road (Route 9), Northfield on Friday, November 15 from 10:00am to 11:00am, followed by a brief service with reflections by friends and family at the funeral home at 11:00am.
