Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Sarah Gunter can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth (Watts) Gunter, of Pleasantville NJ, started her walk around Heaven on Saturday, January 14th, 2017. Sarah was born on May 23rd, 1920 to the late William and Sarah Watts. She was a lifelong resident of Pleasantville NJ where she attended the Pleasantville School System. Sarah was a lifelong member of St.Mary's Episcopal Church of Pleasantville, NJ. Sarah entered into Holy Matrimony with the late Leonard W. Gunter Sr. Together, Sarah and Leonard owned and operated their family business, Twin Oaks Nursery for many years.

Sarah was also a volunteer for the Foster Grandparent program in the Pleasantville School District, known to the SMSS family as "Grandmom Gunter".

From Sarah and Leonard's union 11 beautiful children were born. Sarah was predeceased by her children Leonard Jr., Donald, Charles, Joan and Janice. She was also predeceased by all of her siblings Jesse, William, Charles, Floyd, Rodney, Eugene, Lucille and Evelyn.

Sarah leaves to cherish her memories her daughters Joyce Wright, Christine Birts, Jane Reese (Gary) and her sons Tyrone(Judith), Leslie(Janet), James (Michelle) she also leaves 36 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren, and 31 great great-grandchildren and a host of special relatives and friends who will all miss her dearly.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 11am at Faith Baptist Church, 829 Tilton Road in Pleasantville. A visitation will be from 9-11am. Interment will be held at Atlantic City Cemetery.
