Roy Thomas Candy passed away peacefully April 29, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.

Roy was the dedicated husband of 51 years to Carol A. Candy (Delviscio). He was born in Philadelphia PA, son of the late Dr William Rolland Candy and Lorraine Wheir Candy.

He graduated from Patton Masonic High school in Elizabethtown, PA in 1959. He was honorably discharged from the US Army after serving in Germany from 1960 to 1962. Following this, he went on to attend the University of Pennsylvania.

He retired from his ‘traditional’ career after 35 years with Bell Telephone (Verizon), however during this time, and following, he was more importantly, an accomplished painter, sculptor, roofer, graphic artist, brick/tile mason, carpenter, mechanic, plumber, gardener, tailor, upholsterer, biker(Harley), interior decorator and food and wine connoisseur. Though he possessed this multitude of tremendous talents, he lived a humble, selfless life with, style, humor, kindness and generosity that he bestowed on all who had the privilege of knowing him. As Aristotle said ‘we are what we repeatedly do’, Roy unendingly gave his many gifts and talents to the world.

In addition to his adoring wife, he is survived by his son Ashley Blayne Candy and his spouse Amanda Chiarappa Candy and his daughter Nicole Candy Walters and her spouse Stephen Bren Walters. His pride and joy are his three grandsons, Jacob, Brooks and Grant.

“Spread love everywhere you go: first of all in your own house. Give love to your children, to your wife, to a next door neighbor. Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier. Be the living expression of God’s kindness; kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, kindness in your smile, kindness in your warm greeting.” -Mother Theresa
