Richard Clyde Strockbine Sr.
Richard C. (Sonny) Strockbine, Sr. 77, of Port St. Lucie, FL, formerly of Galloway, NJ passed away peacefully at the Treasure Coast Hospice House, in Fort Pierce, FL on Monday evening, June 26th, 2017.

Born in Atlantic City, NJ, he was the son of the late Richard M. Strockbine, and Gertrude Hintz (Sauer) and was raised by his father and beloved Grandmother, Josephine Strockbine Neill (Geary).

Richard honorably served his country by enlisting in the U.S. Navy in 1956. After serving in the Navy, he was employed by IBM. He always said IBM stood for "I'll be moving" and his family did just that. He lived in Sterling, Va and Thorndale, PA, returning to his home state of NJ and eventually retiring to FL. After retiring from IBM, he was a consultant at the FAA Technical Center as well as Lockheed Martin Marietta in FL until his final retirement. His work ethic was second to none, he provided his family everything they needed and more, to which they are truly grateful.

Along with his parents and his loving grandmother, he is pre-deceased by his brother, Joseph, who died in 1961 whom he loved and missed all of his remaining years.

Richard is survived by his loving wife, Doris Strockbine (Hasson) with whom he shared 57 years of marriage, and his four children: Patricia Strockbine, Somers Point; Richard C. Strockbine, Jr (Suzan) of Sunrise, FL; Donna Strockbine of Port St. Lucie, FL; and Jo Ann Lockhart (George) of Narvon, PA as well as 8 grandchildren: Erika Shannon, Richard C. Strockbine III, Joseph Strockbine, Jennifer Healy, Maris Lockhart, Lyla Lamkin, Kaela Lockhart, Ryan Lockhart; and eight great-grandchildren: Elijah, Richard IV, Tommy, Emma, Vinny, Tristan, Ava and Valen.

He is also survived by his In-laws: Dolores Small of Northfield, Richard Higgins of Egg Harbor City; Joan and John Lubin of Royal Palm Beach, FL; Jane Hartman of Absecon, NJ and her partner Charlie Doughty of Linwood, NJ; Bill Hartman of Egg Harbor Township, and many nephews, niece, and friends.

Richard loved all of his pets throughout the years; especially Tinkerbelle and Snow White, his feline friends who he took great care of.

A viewing will be held from 9am to 11am, on Saturday, July 8th, 2017 at the Adams-Perfect Funeral Home, 1650 New Road, Northfield, with a prayer service at 11am. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Mays Landing. Memorial contributions can be made in his name to Treasure Coast Hospice House, 5090 NW Dunn Rd, Fort Pierce, FL 34981
