Father Richard John Lodge, 69 of Pleasantville, died on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Our Lady's Residence in Pleasantville.

Born in Atlantic City, Father Lodge was raised in Pleasantville. He attended St. Peter School and Holy Spirit High School. He was ordained for the Diocese of Camden on May 31, 1969 at St. Joseph Pro-Cathedral, Camden and served in a number of parishes until his retirement in May 2012. He served as a parochial vicar at Incarnation Parish, Mantua, Our Lady of Grace Parish, Somerdale, St. Paul Parish, Stone Harbor, St., Augustine Parish, Ocean City, St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Vineland, St. Rose of Lima Parish, Haddon Heights and St. Joan of Arc Parish, Camden. He served as Pastor of Transfiguration Parish, West Collingswood, from 1997-2011.

He is survived by his loving sister, Sister Helen Lodge, OSF; and his cousins, Mary Elaine Eisele, Craig and Jim Daly, Mary Beth, Jim, Brian, and Jack Dye.

Father Dick was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying his time fishing and gardening, as well as being known to be able to fix almost anything.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2013 from 3pm until 7pm at St. Gianna Beretta Molla Parish/St. Bernadette Church, 1421 New Road, Northfield. At 7:00 PM, the Mass of Jesus Christ, the Eternal High Priest will be celebrated.

Another visitation will be held on Friday, October 11, 2013 from 9:15am until 10:15am at St. Bernadette Church. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Mays Landing.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Father Lodge's memory to the Franciscan Sisters of Allegany, NY, Retired Sisters Building Fund, PO Box W, St. Bonaventure, NY 14778.
