Richard P  DeKarski
Richard P. DeKarski, loving husband, father and grandfather, born April 13, 1935, from Bayonne, NJ, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2016 with his family by his side. Richard previously resided in Rochester, NH and moved to Pine Hill, NJ in December, 2015 to continue his strong battle with Cancer and spend his time together with his family.
Richard spent 42 years as a Foreman with the Journey Sprinkler Fitters Local #696, Millburn, NJ when he retired in 1996 to care for his loving wife “Teddy” (deceased).
Richard attended the Linden School system and Essex County Adult Technical School. He is predeceased by his wife Theodora “Teddy” H. DeKarski and his mother and father Anthony P. DeKarski and Mary Y. DeKarski.
He is survived by his two sons and three grandchildren, Richard Anthony his loving wife Lorene, with his grandson Eric; and Kevin Theodore his loving wife Sandy, with his granddaughter Caitlin and grandson Kyle. He is also survived by his brother Anthony his loving wife Emily (Carteret); Sisters Genevieve Stives (Stanley deceased) (Clark); Eleanor Sammond (Edward deceased) (Metuchen); Mary Ann Curtin and her loving husband Edward (South Plainfield) and Cousin Elizabeth Krause (Clark) and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM January 9, 2016 at St. Katharine Drexel Church 6077 West Jersey Avenue Egg Harbor Township,NJ 08234. A visitation will be held on Friday evening from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at the Adams-Perfect Funeral Home 1650 New Road Northfield, NJ 08225. Interment at Laurel Memorial Park Cemetery Pomona, NJ.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Vitas Hospice, 521 Fellowship Road, Suite 110, Mount Laurel, NJ 08054.
