Norma Jolles (nee Brucker), 90, passed peacefully in her sleep at Seashore Gardens Living Center, Galloway, NJ, on Oct. 11, 2018. She was born Nov. 1, 1927 in Philadelphia, graduated from West Philadelphia High, married, lived in Wynnewood, PA until 1997 when she moved to Ocean City, NJ. She was predeceased by her parents Max and Frieda Brucker; her sister Berthe Stein and brother Martin Brucker; her husband of 53 years Sydney Jolles. She is survived by her 3 children Howard Jolles (Holly) of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, Paul Jolles (Teresa) of Richmond, VA, and Diane Lombardi (Jim) of Northfield, NJ; her 2 granddaughters Emily Jolles (Christian Allard) of Jacksonville, FL, and Sally Jolles (Joe Windeknecht) of Madison, Wisconsin; 2 great-grandsons Benjamin Allard and Lucas Allard; and several nieces and nephews. Norma was an avid reader, always kept current with the news, enjoyed solving word puzzles and mysteries, was an excellent listener, and delighted in visits from family. Norma will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, kind and gentle nature, hospitality, generosity, thoughtfulness, patience, appreciation of all things beautiful (flowers, dogs, birds) and never forgetting a birthday or anniversary. She always selected just the right card! Norma valued kindness and tolerance in words and deeds. Her strength, courage, cheerfulness, and tenacity throughout a long illness were amazing. She was grateful to Seashore Gardens for the life they provided her, and the many friends she made there. She will be missed. Her family loved her “a bushel and a peck”! Burial will be private.
