Obituary for Michael D'Amato

D'Amato, Michael Anthony 65 of Egg Harbor Township passed away in Philadelphia on Dec. 29, 2015. He was a native of Atlantic City, NJ and a lifelong resident of this area. He was the son of the late Eugene D'Amato and Lee Brown (nee Antosca). Preceded in death by grandparents Connie and Nick Antosca of Ventnor, NJ. Michael retired from the Linwood Police Department after 25 years of distinguished service. He also was an investigator for the Superior Court, NJ and was a recepient of the the P.B.A. Valor Award. He also graduated first in his class form Seagirt State Police Academy. He was an advocate for M.A.D.D.. He enjoyed gardening and was an avid Packers fan. He was a veteran of the National Guard. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife Donna D'Amato; son, Michael Nicholas of Pontchtula, Louisiana; stepsons Dan and Peter; 8 grandchildren. The family will be receiving friends Saturday Jan. 2, 2016 from 11:00 AM until 11:30 AM at St. Katharine Drexel Church 6077 Reega Ave Egg Harbor Township, NJ 08234. A mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 AM. Interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery Mays Landing, NJ. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Penny Angels Beagle Rescue or to the Wounded Warrior Project in his memory. Arrangements by www.adams-perfect.com
