Juanita B.  Harmon
Harmon, Juanita Burke, 83, originally of Pleasantville, died on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 in St. Johns, FL. She was the daughter of the late Bolston and Lula Mae Burke of Aberdeen, NC and wife of the late Dr. Johnson W. Harmon of Pleasantville.
She graduated from St. Paul’s College in Lawrenceville, VA with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Home Economics.

Her distinguished career as a Teacher began in Pleasantville where she taught elementary school at North Main Street Elementary School and later at South Main Street School and served as an educator until she retired, after 34 years in the profession, in 1992.
Juanita remained active in her community of Pleasantville before moving to Florida, proudly working tirelessly for children. She was a member of The National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Inc., a professional organization of educators. All that knew her also appreciated her love of music and among her favorite activities was singing as a dedicated member of the Salem United Methodist Church choir.

She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Juliet of South Orange, NJ and her son, Jarrod, daughter in law, Elizabeth and granddaughter, Ella of Jacksonville, FL; a brother in law, Augustus and sister in law, Bernita of Pleasantville and a host of relatives and friends.

Viewing will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2018 from 9 to 11 AM at Salem United Methodist Church, 815 S Main St, Pleasantville, NJ. Services will be held in the church immediately following the viewing at 11 AM. Burial services will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Pleasantville, NJ.
