Hammann, Jonathan D. 67 of Somers Point, passed away suddenly at home on August 8, 2011.

Jonathan was born in Albany, NY on October 11, 1943 and lived in Somers Point since 1976. He served in the United States Army from July 1, 1964 through June 30, 1967. Jonathan worked as an optician for many years. He enjoyed photography, traveling and spending time with his family and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents, Fredrick and Ruth Hammann. He is survived by his beloved wife and friend, Maureen (nee Dickson); his loving daughter, Andrea Sutherlund (Thomas); and his two wonderful grandchildren, Brittany and Andrew. He is also survived by his brothers: Fredrick (Sharon) of NY, Timothy (Rosalba) of NC, and Matthew (Cathy) of Australia; one sister, Christina Wheat of NY; aunt Lillian Skarka of NY; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends, especially Timothy Moran.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 12, 2011 at 11:30am at Adams-Perfect Funeral Home, 1650 New Road, Northfield. A visitation will be held from 10:30am until the time of the service.

Interment will be held in the Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery, Estell Manor.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
