Obituary for John Paul Keeler

John Paul Keeler
On November 14, 2022, John Paul Keeler, Jr. (65), loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend passed away unexpectedly. Born to John (Jack) and Ann Keeler in 1957, John was raised in Northfield and graduated from Mainland Regional High School. He served in the U.S. Navy as a submariner from 1975-81 on both the USS John C. Calhoun SSBN 630 and the USS Ulysses S. Grant SSBN 631 as an Electrical Support Technician, attaining the rank of E-5. John earned his Associate of Arts Degree with High Honors from Atlantic Cape Community College in 2004. John worked for over 42 years with Atlantic City Electric Company, ultimately rising to become the Senior Supervisor of Revenue Protection. John served as a volunteer firefighter in Bargaintown, NJ for several years. He is survived by his loving wife, Emery, whom he married in April of 2002. Together, they built a home in Ocean City, where he enjoyed crafting home-cooked meals to share with family and friends over a great glass of wine. In his time off, John also loved spending time with his sons, boating or catching a Phillies game, as well as traveling the world and raising several very good dogs. He is also survived by his children, John P. Keeler III (Brianna) and Thomas Keeler (Nicole); his siblings, Elizabeth Robinson (Glenn) and Andrew Keeler (Maureen); his furry best friend, Jack; as well as many nieces, nephews, friends, neighbors, and co-workers, who all enjoyed his dry wit and wonderful sense of humor. A memorial service will be held at Adams-Perfect, 1650 New Road, Northfield, NJ, 08225, on Sunday, November 20, 2022. Visitation will occur at 1:00pm, with services to begin at 2:00pm followed by military honors. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a memorial gift in John’s name can donate to the Humane Society of Ocean City or a veteran’s organization of your choice.
