I was so sad to hear of Janice’s passing. We were friends in Elementary School but lost track of each other in High School. I remember many laughs at a Church Camp called Camp Lebanon. We were separated because Janice was younger. It became a wonderful joke, when the song, ‘CAMP GRENADA’ was released. My condolences to her Mother, Elsie and extended family.

I was shocked and shaken to hear the terrible news of Janice's passing. I will always remember the times hanging out with Janice and her family at their home on Granville Avenue in our early teen years as some of the best times of my life. They opened their hearts and their home to us all, and they were so very generous with their love to each and every one of us. Her mom was like a mom to us all. I'm sure Merretta Cherrico, Diane Koucher, Joanne Boothby, Freddy Gould, Joey Gassman, Jimmie Delcher, Craig Packman, Mark Dzegrenick and the rest of us all felt the exact same way. For the most part we were a bunch of misfits, who each found a sense of belonging and community through those shared experiences. The acceptance and love of Janice and her family at that formative stage helped me gain a sense of confidence that has helped me in so many ways over the course of my life. I am embarrassed that it has been almost fifty years since I lost touch with Janice, and I never took the opportunity to thank her or her wonderful family while I could.
Rest in peace Janice, and know that you are loved by many.
