Obituary for Eugene Douglas

Douglas, Eugene, 78 of Pleasantville, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Meadowview Nursing Home.

Born and raised in Arkansas, he relocated to New Jersey where he worked for the Atlantic City Board of Education in food service for more than 20 years.

He served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Post 430, where he was past Commander, past Dept. Master at Arms, and past County Vice Commander for Atlantic County. He also served on the Credential Committee for convention in Wildwood for 30 years. He was a Legion Policeman and later became a Vice Chairman of Legion Police.

He is survived by his wife, Ann; his daughter, Susan Marciano; his son, Leon Speller; grandson Michael Marciano; granddaughter Dawn Marciano; and sister-in-law Kathy Marciano. He was predeceased by his daughter, Lily Ann Taylor.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Donations may be made in Eugene's memory to the American Legion Post 430, 621 W. White Horse Pike, Galloway, NJ 08205
