Obituary for Elizabeth Mary Hudson (Philippiades)

Elizabeth Mary Hudson (Philippiades)
ELIZABETH PHILIPIADES HUDSON, 63, of Egg Harbor Township, passed away Monday Feb 4th, 2013, at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, with her loving daughter Eileen by her side, after a valiant fight with kidney disease and other complications. “Liz” as she was known, was from Atlantic City and remained an Atlantic County resident all her life. She was the daughter of Sarah Altman Philipiades and Anastatioes Philipiades, of Atlantic City. Growing up on North Texas Avenue in Atlantic City she attended Atlantic City Schools. It was during her mid teen years she met her husband of 35 years Richard “Dick” Hudson. They married in 1967 and moved to Oxford, PA where they started their family. Before her illness forced her to retire, Liz was a self employed Domestic Engineer for over 30 years, helped many people over the years with her special expertise at “home management services”, helping them maintain a peaceful co-existence in their homes as only she could do. “Lizzie” was the ultimate homebody who enjoyed her home, family and friends. Any time of the day or evening was “coffee time” at Lizzie’s. Friends constantly called on her, gathering around the table with that cup of java and great conversation. Liz was kind and caring, never passing judgment on any one or anything.

Liz was predeceased by her son, Ricky; her husband Dick; and her parents. “Lizzie” will be sadly missed by her adoring daughter Eileen and her husband Nick Dargis, of EHT, her precious grandchildren, Kyle (Ky), Danielle (Dani) and Joshua (Doh) Dargis, her early childhood lifelong friend Gail Zakraysek of Florida, as well as a host of other good friends

Services will be held on Saturday, February 9,2013 at 12 noon at Adams-Perfect Funeral Home, 1650 New Road, Northfield, NJ. The viewing will be held from 11-12 with services immediately following. She will be laid to rest with her husband, son and mother at Laurel Memorial Park, in Pomona.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the family to help defer Lizzie’s final expenses. Arrangements are entrusted to and written condolences may be sent to:Adams-Perfect.com.
