Obituary for Cora Lee Graves (Whitland)

Cora Lee  Graves (Whitland)
Cora Lee Graves (nee Whitland), 66, suddenly went home to be with the Lord on March 11, 2016.

Born to Edward and Aurelia Whitland on July 28, 1949 in Atlantic City, Cora attended and graduated from Pleasantville Public Schools. Cora then went on to work for Shoreview and Meadowview Nursing Homes in Northfield. Cora then spent the rest of her career working with the mentally challenged in different adult group homes, and lastly for the ARC of Atlantic County in 1990. She had to retire early due to illness.

Cora was married to Booker T. Graves from 1984 until his death in 1997. Cora dedicated her life to the Lord and was baptized on March 26, 1994 and received the Holy Ghost on September 24, 1994.

Cora was predeceased by her husband, Booker T. Graves; her parents; and her grandparents.

She is survived by her sisters, Jeanette P. Whitland of Winston-Salem, NC, Maureen Moore of Pleasantville, and Toni White (Earl) of Egg Harbor Twp.; her brothers, Edward Whitland, Jr. (Loretta) of Egg Harbor Twp., Harry D. Whitland, Sr. of Atlantic City, and Darren Whitland, Sr. (Chalyse) of Galloway; her step children; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; her big sister, Melfreda D. Bordley, known as "Sisser"; and her aunt, Vivian A. Peterson.
