Obituary for Clayton M. Johnson

Clayton  M.  Johnson
Clayton Morris Johnson of Pleasantville, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2016. He was 95.
Born on June 21, 1920 in Camden, New Jersey to William and Hazel Johnson, he grew up in Williamstown, New Jersey until his family moved to Atlantic City. He graduated from the Atlantic City Vocational School after studying printing. Clayton then voluntarily joined the United States Navy after the attack on Pearl Harbor, where he ultimately served as Radioman Second Class on the U.S.S. Mobile in the Pacific theatre of World War II. After the war, he was active in the Wesley Methodist Church and the Community Exchange Club of Atlantic City. He worked at the Ventnor Print Shop, taught classes in printing at the Atlantic City Vocational School, and ultimately became co-owner of Brooks & Idler Printers in Atlantic City until selling the business. He published the popular guide for area tourists, called the "Amusement Guide." He continued working in local businesses up until age 94.
Clayton Morris Johnson is survived by his wife of 74 years, Doris, his three daughters, Janice Kaukeano of Atlantic City, Jill Muth of Sugar Land, Texas, and Joanne Johnson of Galloway. He has five grandchildren: Kyle Kaukeano of Atlantic City, Kim Hoyt of Peoria, Arizona, Douglas Muth of Houston, Texas, Lauren Muth of Houston, Texas, and Gregory Muth of Lubbock, Texas. Further, he has four great grandchildren: Kayla and Kylie Kaukeano, and Kahealani and Kana Chung.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, January 8, 2016 from 10am til 11am at the Adams-Perfect Funeral Home 1650 New Road, Northfield. A Funeral Service will be held at 11am. Burial will follow with military honors at Laurel Memorial Park, Pomona, NJ.
