Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Carmela Insalaco can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Carmela  Insalaco (Romeo)
Insalaco, Carmela (nee Romeo) - 93 of Linwood, passed away after a brief illness on June 14, 2017.

Born in NYC to immigrant parents, she was the eldest of three children. She went on to live the dream of owning a home in Queens, NY and eventually moved to Linwood, NJ, following her daughter and grandchildren.

She loved the Lord and served him in every way possible through her lifetime. She was involved with the church, serving with the Rosary Club, the Antons and several sewing clubs for the needy. She was a volunteer for Catholic Charities, where she went on to meet her loving spouse, Anthony.

Carmela was predeceased by her parents, James and Florence Romeo; her brother, Joseph Romeo; and her loving husband, Anthony Insalaco. She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Parise (nee Insalaco); son-in-law Marc; grandchildren Kelly and Christopher; her "baby brother", John Romeo; several sisters in law; nieces, nephews, grand nieces and a grand nephew.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, June 24th from 9:30am until 11:00am at Our Lady of Sorrows Roman Catholic Church, 724 Maple Avenue, Linwood. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00am. Interment will be held at the Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery, Estell Manor.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Carmela's memory to Holy Redeemer Home Care and Hospice, 6550 Delilah Road, #501, Egg Harbor Township, NJ 08234.
