Bruce John  Matus Sr.
Matus, Sr., Bruce J. - 73 of Egg Harbor Township, NJ passed away July 2, 2022. Bruce John Matus, Sr. was born November 9, 1948, to Charlotte and Rudolph Matus, one of two children. Bruce grew up in Philadelphia where he met Olga, the love of his life and best friend. He attended Roman Catholic High School and the Community College of Philadelphia. He was a devout Catholic, Altar boy, and Eucharistic Minister.
Bruce Sr. was a good friend of Bill W. recently celebrating a 40th Anniversary on March 11, 2022. He mentored hundreds of individuals through love and service of his experience, strength, and hope. He was an inspiration and influenced many as a Man of Malvern, C.A. Captain and recruiter for over 35 years earning the Chairman's Award in 2008 for dedicated service on behalf of the St. Pius X Group. Bruce was employed in the food and beverage industry since he was a teenager ending the last twenty-six years of his career by closing the Trump Taj Mahal Casino Hotel, Atlantic City in 2016. Bruce prided on his food service expertise and strong work ethic. He enjoyed boxing, boating, fishing, the Philadelphia Phillies, Philadelphia Eagles and traveling abroad with his wife.
Bruce was preceded in death by his father, Rudolph Matus and mother, Charlotte Paul. Bruce is survived by his wife Olga, children, Regina, Bruce Jr., and Eric, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers, sister, and a multitude of extended family.
Visitation will take place Thursday, July 7th, 6:00pm - 8:00pm at Adams Perfect Funeral Home, 1650 New Rd., Northfield, NJ, and Friday, July 8th 9:00am at St. Gianna Molla Parish, 1421 New Rd., Northfield, NJ with a Mass immediately following at 10:00 AM.
