Obituary for A J Kennedy

A J  Kennedy
On Monday, December 14, 2020, A J Kennedy, loving father of three children, six grandchildren, and six great grandchildren, passed away at the age of 86.

A J was born on January 28, 1934 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Edward and Frankie (Parker) Kennedy. He joined the US Army in 1956, serving across the world until his honorary discharge and retirement in 1993. During this service, A J received the Army Good Conduct Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon, Noncommissioned Professional Development Ribbon - 3, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, and National Defense Service Medal with Bronze Service Star.

A J was a dedicated father who instilled in his family a sense of adventure and exploration of the outdoors through annual camping trips and excursions to national parks. His storied life has left a mark on this world and in our hearts.

A J raised his family in New Jersey, but his heart has always belonged to Oklahoma. His ashes will be divided and interred at both the Atlantic County Veteran's Cemetery, Estelle Manor, New Jersey and alongside his parents at South Bethel Cemetery, Muskogee County, Oklahoma.

A J is predeceased by his mother, father, brothers: Jack, Edward, Spencer, Bobby Dean, and sisters: Ruby, Billie Jean, Betty, Wanda, Norma, Naomi, and Gladys.

A J is survived by three children; Annette (Kennedy) Langmead, Brian Kennedy, and Brenda Kennedy, six grandchildren; Julie (Langmead) O'Neal, Jeannette (Langmead) Rudemead, Alexander Langmead, Madison Souder, Avery Souder, Julianna Souder, and six great grandchildren; Elyzabeth Graham, Vyctoria Graham, Devon O'Neal, Silver O'Neal, Connor Langmead and Chloe Langmead.

A visitation will be held on Monday, December 28, 2020 from 12-1pm with a service beginning at 1pm at Adams-Perfect Funeral Home, 1650 New Road in Northfield. Interment will follow at Atlantic County Veteran's Cemetery in Estell Manor.
