Elliott Ralph Johnson
Elliott R Johnson, 86, of Somers Place, Egg Harbor Township, went home to be with the Lord, whom he loved dearly, on June 30, 2015.

Elliott was born to Ralph and Emma Johnson on August 20, 1928 at Shore Memorial Hospital in Somers Point.

He was preceded in death by his parents, older sister, Florence Johnson and his beloved wife Madaline.

Elliot graduated from Pleasantville High School. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army. Upon his discharge, his vocation was that of an electrician. He worked in the D.C. area on such buildings as the Capitol, White House, Pentagon, Jefferson Memorial and other notable federal buildings. He also performed electrical work on a number of our local churches. He later worked for the ACUA from which he retired.

Elliott and Madaline enjoyed flying. He owned several private planes; he not only piloted the planes, but did much of the maintenance on them as well. He established a private air strip on his property from which he flew back and forth, to Virginia weekly. Elliott was a member of the Delaware Valley Christian Pilots Association.

Their passion for flying led Elliott and Madaline to meeting and becoming involved with Dr. Jerry Falwell's ministry. He and Madaline were regents of Liberty University having met with Dr. Jerry Falwell on numerous occasions.

Elliott was a regular attender of Linwood Community Church. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 from 10 until 11am at Linwood Community Church, 1838 Shore Road in Linwood, with a service beginning at 11am, at the Church. Interment will be held at Zion Cemetery.
