Obituary for Mildred Graziano (Bocelli)

Mildred Graziano (Bocelli)
Graziano, Mildred, passed away at home in Somers Point after a long, well fought battle with Alzheimer’s with her family by her side.

Mildred was born on April 23, 1919 in Landisville to Felix and Jennie (Muccio) Bocelli. Her family moved to Pleasantville where she was raised with her sisters and brothers. In 1943 she married her love, “Jim.” They also resided in Pleasantville, where Jim and his brother operated “J&J Shoe Repair.” Millie loved her job at M.C. Schrank Mfg. Co., for many years. In her later years, she became a crossing guard. She loved being around all of her “kids.” That love of kids continued as she helped raise her grandchildren and her greats. She held those memories in her heart until the end. The Alzheimer’s never took that away!

Millie was predeceased by her mother and father; husband Jim; sisters, Lucy and Marie; and brothers, Anthony and Patrick.

She is survived by her daughter, JoAnn Faden with whom she resided; her grandson, Arthur (Ginny); granddaughter, Gina (Brian); dear born greats are Corey, Casey, Mackenzie and Zachary. How she loved taking them to dinner! Also survived by her loving nurse and neighbor, Gail Owens. Thanks to Gail, Millie stayed with us much longer than anyone thought possible. She gave of herself seven days a week. We are forever grateful.

Special thanks to all the “Patricia’s” who cared for Millie, especially the ones who got her to her favorite, “Primo’s Pizza.” Also to the staff – thanks for making her feel so special when she came in. Her coffee was ready in a hurry!

In the last year, Millie was cared for by Heartland Hospice. They blessed her by sending Amber, aka, Carol every morning. Amber’s patience and loving care will never be forgotten. Who but Millie got her hair styled 3x a week! Hospice sent her the best – Nurse Jaime, Dr. Cindy, Georgia, Robin, Dr. Kwasnik, Nancy, wonderful weekend girls, too many to mention. Heartland should be proud!

In her final months, Marie came into mom’s life. She sang to her and brought her much peace. Marie came in rain, sleet or snow. Thank you Marie and thanks to Marie’s daughter, for getting her to Millie.

Millie’s care was unique but then so was Millie.

Yes mom, you are “still Millie” and always will be. We hold your unconditional love deep in our hearts. Thanks mom, for being you!

A memorial service will be held at the mausoleum at Holy Cross Cemetery, in Mays Landing, on Saturday, March 21st at 2:00pm.
