Obituary for Gary Pittman

Gary Pittman, was born on February 20, 1952 to the late Mr. & Mrs. James Pittman, Brooklyn, N.Y. He departed this life peacefully on December 31, 2016 at AtlantiCare Hospital, in Atlantic City, NJ. Those who proceed his death Mother Minnie Pittman, Father James Pittman, Grandmother Lillie Matthews, Uncle Willie Matthews also Aunt Bestie Matthew. Gary was the oldest of 6 siblings he went to Public School 262 in Brooklyn,N.Y. from 1958-1963 which at that time he was in a major accident he was separated from the family several years. When he returned to the family he helped raise his younger brothers and sisters. In the mid 70's up until the late 80's Gary worked as a cook in a restaurant that our Uncle owned called the Burger Frame that was located on Dekalb Ave, then later moved to Pennsylvania & Liberty Ave in Brooklyn, N.Y. which he still worked as a cook. w
When our Uncle passed the business was pass on he continued to live with the family and help raise his Nephew, Nieces and Sister. Gary was a big fan of western movies and this is what gave him the desire to get into drawing which he became a great painter. Those left to morn and cherish his wonderful memory are his six brothers and sisters Douglas, (Francine) from Brooklyn, N.Y. Thomas, (Yvonne) from Bronx, N.Y. Tate, Bronx, N.Y. Darryl, (June) from N.J. Queenie, from Binghamton, N.Y. and Serina Pittman from N.J. and several nieces and nephews and friends. A service will be held Tuesday January 10, 2017 at 4pm with calling hours from 3:30 until 4pm a private burial service will be held by the family.
