Dorothy L.  Donovan
Donovan, Dorothy Lillian (nee Frye), 92 of Longport, passed away unexpectedly on July 21, 2016.

She was born the third of nine children in 1923 to Christian L. Frye who was Longport's first born son.

In her younger years she loved roller skating and the beach. She was a member of the Margate Methodist Church where she sang in the choir. She met and married her husband of 72 years during World War II in 1944. Dorothy worked for South Jersey Gas Company, Longport Tax Office, and retired from the Longport Board of Education as Board Secretary.

She enjoyed the beach, gardening, traveling, and her cats, and had a strong love of her family.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, John A. Donovan; her parents, Christian L. and Sarah Frye; her brothers, Richard, Edward, and Buster; and her sisters, Kathryn Brennan, Ruth Coons, and Evelyn Boone.

Dot is survived by her sisters, Marge Eskridge (Carl) and Gloria Rye (Philip); her daughter, Deborah D. Weathers (Bill); her grandsons, Robert C. Johnson (Dena) and Bill J. Weathers (Jen); her great grandchildren: Samuel Johnson, Billy Weathers, Alicia Weathers, and Heather Harding; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 27th from 12 noon until 1pm at Adams-Perfect Funeral Home, 1650 New Road, Northfield. A service will be held at 1pm, followed by interment in Zion Cemetery, Egg Harbor Township.
