James Francis Woodland, of Northfield, NJ, passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, Pomona, NJ surrounded by his family.

James leaves behind his beloved wife, Barbara Lois (Marsh) Woodland, his daughter, Nancy (Harry) Deputy, his son, Michael (Kanjana) Woodland, & his daughter, Cindy (Bryan) Woodland, Holly-Lynn (Joseph) Schiavo & Susan (Michael) Lazarus. James loved his grandchildren: Jennifer, Michael, Glenn, Brandon, Harry, Valerie & Abigail and his great grandchildren: Haley & Adam.

James was born on July, 4, 1931 in West Pittston, PA to Francis Cornelius Woodland & Mildred Lucille Stith.

James graduated from West Philadelphia High School in 1945 and earned three varsity letters in Soccer.

He was an Assistant Scout Master, B.S.A.

James served in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1959 and worked at the Naval Headquarters in Philadelphia. James ran his family’s business, Woodland Marble & Tile Company in Upper Darby, PA and later became the executive vice president for Avalon Carpet & Tile.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 17th, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Adams-Perfect Funeral Home, 1650 New Road, Northfield, NJ. Services will follow at 11:00 am. Interment will be private following the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to: Zion United Methodist Church, 652 Zion Road, Egg Harbor Township, NJ 08234.
