Cottrell, Carol Jean (Smith) 72 of Egg Harbor Township, NJ. Born April 18, 1943 in Atlantic City, NJ passed away peacefully with her daughter Mindy by her side Thursday, October 1, 2015. She was the daughter of the late Lynwood C. Smith, Sr. and Mabel J. Bush. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph F. Cottrell and her brother Lynwood C. Smith, Jr. She is survived by her children Joseph F. Cottrell, Jr., Melinda J. Heiler, and Michael V. Cottrell, sisters Linda C. Conn and Stephanie J. Bordonaro and brothers Mark C. Smith and L. B. Smith as well as 6 grand children and 1 great granddaughter, nieces, nephews, sister and brother in-laws, and close friends. Carol was a graduate of Ocean City High School, a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and devoted friend. She was a very private person and enjoyed the beach, the casinos, bingo and gathering with family and friends. As a child she enjoyed tap dancing on the Steel Pier and performed on the Ted Mack Amateur Hour with her sister. She worked at Prudential and Blake’s Gymnastics Academy. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 am Thursday, October 8, 2015, with a service to follow at 11:00 am, at Adams-Perfect Funeral Home, 1650 New Rd, Northfield, NJ, burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Mays Landing, NJ. Arrangements are entrusted to and written condolences may be sent to: Adams-Perfect. Com. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association.
