Obituary for Teresa Marie Ferrie

Teresa Marie  Ferrie
Teresa Ferrie (Nee) Love, Northfield- 86 Known as Terry Ferrie, passed away peacefully on May 18th surrounded by her family. Born in Atlantic City, she raised her family in Northfield and Somers Point.

She was a crossing guard in front of St. Joseph’s Church in Somers Point for many years and previously a crossing guard in Northfield. Teresa was a member of St. Joseph’s Parish, the Altar Rosary Society, The Legion of Mary and St. Vincent DePaul. She taught CCD for many years in Northfield and was loved by all who knew her. She was very devout in her faith throughout her lifetime. She was a kind soul to all who knew her and never a cross word about anyone. She loved helping those in need, distributing clothing or food whenever the need arose.

She is predeceased by her beloved husband, John of 52 years. Also predeceased by her brothers and sisters: John and Bob Love, Barbara, Dottie, and Mary and her son-in-law Michael Schurman. Survived by children Cindy (Jim) Ludwig, Rio Grande; Debbie Schurman, Northfield; John (Shawn) Ferrie, EHT; Teresa (Bill) Masciulli, EHT; and Michael Ferrie, Linwood. Also survived by Julie Ross of Tennessee. Teresa leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Teresa was cared for at Atlantic County’s Meadowview Nursing Home, Northfield for almost 4 years by their skilled and caring staff until her final days when she passed away at home with her family by her side.

Services will be at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 606 Shore Road, Somers Point on Tuesday, May 26, where friends may call from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Mass and services will begin at 11:00 a.m.

Burial following Mass at Veterans Cemetery, Estelle Manor.
