Obituary for George E. Bird

George E.  Bird
Bird, Sr. George E. 71, long time resident of Egg Harbor Township passed away on May 15, 2015 with his family by his side. Born on Feb. 21, 1944 in Somers Point he served his country in the U.S. Navy active service during the Cuban Missle Crisis on the USS Barton.

George was self employed and operated his own Plumbing business for many years. He loved Nascar, fishing, boating, classic cars, and most recently enjoyed the gun range.

He is predeceased by his parents Allen & Josephine Bird, his daughter, Shelly, his brothers, Allen, Charles, and Ronald; and sister, Peggy.

George loved his large family and is survived by his son, George (Teresa), his daughter, Jennifer; his brothers & sisters, Joan, Ruth, Dolores, Mickey (Beth), Josephine (Dennis), Milly (Mike), and Bob; his grandchildren Jordan, Danyel, Matthew, Degan, Myles, and many loving nieces and nephews.

A Procession led by the Legion Riders will begin at the Somers Point Vol. Fire Co. #1 at 11am on Thursday, May 21, 2015 to the Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery, Estell Manor. A Graveside Service will start as the procession arrives at the cemetery with Military Honors.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in George's memory to the charity of your choice.
