Obituary for Rosalia Nanfara
Nanfara, Rosalia (nee La Rizza), 83, of Atlantic City, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, May 2, 2015. Born in Delia, Caltanissetta, Sicily, Italy, she immigrated to the United States on May 15, 1963 with her husband Michael and three children. She is predeceased by her husband Michael, her parents Giuseppe and Susanna (nee La China) La Rizza, as well as her sisters Catena Ferrante Bannera and Calogera Falzone. She is survived by her four children: Marcantonio Nanfara, M.D. (Angela Siuta), Provvidenza Mancuso (Tommaso), Joseph Nanfara (Marguerita Belger, and Ralph J. Nanfara. She also leaves eight grandchildren: Calogero, Michele, and Francesco Mancuso, Michael T., Marc, Rosalia, Michael J., and Greta Nanfara. She is also survived by two sisters, Maria Giuliana and Giuseppina Vaccaro (Angelo), one brother Calogero La Rizza and many nieces and nephews.
A devout Catholic, she was a member of St. Michael Roman Catholic Parish and Mary Help of Christians Society for the past 52 years. A seamstress by profession, she worked at various factories and fine ladies shops.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 from 6 PM to 8 PM at Adams-Perfect Funeral Home, 1650 New Road, Northfield, New Jersey 08225. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, followed by entombment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Mays Landing.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests Masses and donations in her memory be made to St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, 10 N. Mississippi Avenue, Atlantic City, New Jersey 08401.
Arrangements entrusted to and condolences may be left for the family at adams-perfect.com.
