Noten, Robert “Mr. Bob” age 90 of Marco Island, FL formerly of Egg Harbor Township passed away on Friday, January 9, 2015 surrounded by family.
Robert or “Mr. Bob” was the founder of Bob’s Garden Center in Egg Harbor Township.
Robert was born October 30, 1924 in Rotterdam, Holland. He left his native country in 1945 and gained his US citizenship in 1954 after serving in the Korean War. He truly lived the American dream. He worked many different jobs including waiter and sommelier before opening Bob’s Farm Market with his wife in the early 60’s. Together with his wife, he grew their roadside stand into a successful business. He had a great sense of humor and was a wonderful cook. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Robert was predeceased by his grandson, Andrew Noten Hudson.He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Mercedes Noten, his daughters; Sandy Noten Heuman (Rick), Jackie Noten Hudson (Neil); grandsons, Lucas and Ricki Heuman, and Tyler Hudson, great granddaughters, Angelina and Julia Heuman.
Services were private.
