Obituary for John Peter Hinkle

John Peter  Hinkle
Hinkle, John P., 65 of Northfield, passed away on January 9, 2015.

Born in Camden, John attended Mainland Regional High School. At age 17 he joined the US Army during the Vietnam War, where he earned a Purple Heart. Later, He was employed as a gas tank driver. He was a Master Carpenter and heavy equipment operator. He considered himself to be a "jack of all trades". In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, and spending time with his friends. He was a very hard working, supportive man for his family and friends.

A loyal, loving husband and an amazing father, he had a hilarious sense of humor and will be greatly missed.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Josephine, to whom he was married for 23 years, until her passing.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 16 years, Linda Hinkle (nee Patterson), with whom he spent wonderful times, restoring antiques and traveling; his only child, daughter Dawn Hinkle; his mother, Elizabeth Hinkle; grandsons John and Tristan Fuentes; his brother, Warren Hinkle; and his step-sister, Chrissy Leyva.

As per John's wishes, services will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Disabled Veterans Sports USA, 1550 New Road, Suite B, Northfield, NJ 08225.
