Obituary for William J Duggan

William J. Duggan, Sr., 88, passed away at home on Sunday, May 16th after a long, courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Born and raised in Boston, MA, “Jay” or “JD”, as he was affectionately known by his NJ community, was the owner/operator of Jay D’s Hair Salon in Absecon for over 50 years. Many of his customers became life long friends. Predeceased by his mother, Gertrude Biancucci and also his grandson, Mikal Lee LeGrande. Jay is survived by devoted life partner of over 40 years, Jane E. Friedrich. Jane was by his side when he passed. He is also survived by his son, William, Jr. and his children: Alyssa, Amy, Zane and Morgan; Daughter, Colleen LeGrande, her husband Rogers and grandchildren: Mikayla, Robert, Miya, McKenzie, and Micah; Son John and his wife Lisa and their children: Noah, Elana and Zachary. Jay is also survived by stepchildren Sandy and Robert. Jay will also be missed by friends, John and Rosemary Ordile and Godson, John Ordile, Jr. Jay loved to play golf before his illness. He always considered it a great joy to be out in the wonderful weather on beautiful golf courses with his friends. Jay’s family would like to give special thanks to Atlanticare Hospice, especially Alexis and Christina, during his illness, for the care that he received. A heartfelt thanks to Diego Fiorentino, DO, for his kindness and compassion through the years. Services for Jay will be Wednesday, May 26, 2021, at St. Giana Beretta Molla Church in Northfield. Friends and family can gather at 10:00 am and Mass will be at 11:00 am, with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery.
