RUBEN RIVERA, - 74, of Egg Harbor City, went home to be with his Savior on February 8, 2022. He faithfully served the Lord and and lovingly cared for his family and friends. Ruben was bornin Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico to Jose and Inez (Mendez) Rivera-Carrasquilloon November 8, 1947. He moved to Brooklyn, NY at age 17 where he met and married the love of his life Lillian(Cales), his wife of 52 years. Ruben worked in Building Maintenance at Bethesda Day Care Center for 35 years and often used his carpentry skills for outside projects. But his greatest joy was his love for Jesus and his family. He was a fantastic cook. Whether he was cooking for his grandkids or for a large church function, each meal was joyfully prepared with care and tasted amazing! He also loved reading his Bible ,telling funny stories, antique cars, watching Jeopardy ,and, with a 1000+ album collection, his love of music(especially salsa) was evident. Also known as “Pa”/“Papa”, he will be tremendously missed by his wife, daughters Suzette D’Ornellas (Franklyn), Yvette Mouliert (Matthew),Melina Rivera and Regina Rivera and grandchildren Caleb, Jake (April), Luke, Ethan, Adam and Delilah as well as his surviving siblings, nieces & nephews and many friends. A viewing will be held on Friday, February 11 from 11am1pm at Adams-Perfect Funeral Home, 1650 New Road, Northfield, NJ. A service will follow at 1pm. Burial will beheld at Zion Methodist Church Cemetery, 652 Zion Rd, EHT, NJ.
