Obituary for Rosary M Pollara (Mineo)

POLLARA, ROSARY M. MINEO, - 75, of Egg Harbor Township, passed away September 24 surrounded by her immediate family. Rosary was born in New York City, grew up in Wood-Ridge, NJ and received her BA from Fairleigh Dickinson University where she met her future husband, Joseph. Rosary taught 5th grade education at Pierrepont Elementary School in Rutherford, NJ. Immediately after marrying Joseph in 1967, they started their life together in Bologna, Italy where Rosary taught English to Italians in Ferrara and John Hopkins Institute, while her husband studied veterinary medicine. In 1972, they returned to New Jersey and eventually settled in Marlboro where Rosary managed her husband’s equine veterinary practice for 40 years. After retiring in 2006, Rosary and Joseph moved to Egg Harbor Township to be closer to their granddaughter and continued their love of travel. In September 2017, Rosary celebrated 50 years of marriage to Joseph, with their two daughters and granddaughter in Sicily, the trip of a lifetime. Rosary is predeceased by her parents, Marie and Rosario Mineo; she is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 51 years, Dr. Joseph Pollara, the jewels of her life: daughters Maria Rose Pollara and Juliana Pollara and the joy of Rosary’s life: granddaughter Francesca Pollara-Parsons. Rosary leaves behind her three loving sisters: Mary Mineo Drotos (Ronald), Joan Mineo Cleary (James), Patricia Ann Mineo Krapf (Walt), her close sister-in-law Marietta Verdoni (John), and brother-in-law Frank Pollara, as well as many cherished cousins, nieces and nephews and dear friends that were an extension of her family. Rosary valued and treasured family above all else: Sempre Familigia.

Visitation will be held Saturday, September 29 th and Sunday, September 30 th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Adams-Perfect Funeral Home, 1650 New Road in Northfield, NJ ( www.adams-perfect.com). A prayer service will be held on Saturday, September 29th at 3:30pm at Adams-Perfect Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 1st at 12noon at Church of the Assumption of our Blessed Lady,143 1st St, Wood-Ridge, NJ 07075. Interment to follow at Hillside Cemetery in Lyndhurst, NJ.
