Obituary for Roger Rene Bergeron

Roger Bergeron, 85, of Egg Harbor Township passed away to be with our Lord and Savior on June 17th, 2023. He fought a courageous battle with cancer and was always surrounded and cared for by his loving wife Joann and family. He was born and raised in Rhode Island and at 17 years old left his parents to join the U.S Navy as an Aviation Mechanic. He was stationed in Atlantic City, NJ where he met his late wife Sally of 49 years and raised four wonderful children. Roger was a provider and an extremely hard worker and dedicated many years of his life to Universal Aluminum in Pleasantville. He was also known for owning R&S Collectibles and Ice Cream Store in Egg Harbor Township. Later on in life he worked as a greeter at BJ's in Mays landing and finally a school bus driver for EHT School District. In 2008 he started a courtship with his current wife Joann. Together they attended New Life Assembly in Egg Harbor Township, they enjoyed visiting the towns of Smithville, Cape May, and taking walks on the boardwalk in Ocean City. Roger and Joann also enjoyed cooking together, but most of all they enjoyed being with one another.
Roger is predeceased by his parents, Alphonse Bergeron and Florence Bergeron (Doyon) ; Brother, Pete Bergeron; and Late Wife; Sally Bergeron (Nee Iaconelli).
Roger is survived by his loving wife of 12 years, Joann Bergeron (Nee Swift); his four children, Roger, Kenneth, BonnieJean, and Stephen; his step-children, Michael (Yassine) and Justine (Levi); Sister, Irene (Eugene); Brothers, Leon (Irene), and Dennis; Grandchildren, George, Stephanie, Elizabeth, Kenny (Christy), Matthew, Jennifer (Robert), Rebecca, and Salvatore. He is also survived by 11 Great-Grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
A Visitation will be held on Friday June 23rd, 2023 from 10:00am to 11:00am at New Life Assembly Church in Egg Harbor Township NJ with a service immediately following.
