Obituary for Robert George Monroe Sr.
Robert (Boone) George Monroe, Sr., 86, of Egg Harbor Township passed away at home surrounded by family on May 28, 2023. He was born and raised in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and graduated from Atlantic City High School and Atlantic City Vo-Tech School in 1955. He then served in the United States Navy from 1956 to 1958. He retired from Lenox China after 40 years and enjoyed his many years of retirement. He loved to fish, hunt, and explore the
outdoors with his family and friends. He loved to read, was an avid Eagles and Philadelphia sports fan. He was a wealth of knowledge and always had an answer to a question or a solution to a problem as soon as it was needed.
He was predeceased by his parents, George and Rita Monroe, and his mother-in-law, Amelia Pfirman. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Nancy (Pfirman); 3 children, Robert (Ann Marie), Terri Sartorio (Brian), and Joseph (Kim); his sister, Veronica Burns; 7 grandchildren, Hillary (Craig) Martin, Jessica, Rebecca, Nicole, Nicholas, Karlee, and Jared; and 2 great-grandchildren, Owen and Sydney.
Visitation will be held at Adams Perfect Funeral Home in Northfield, NJ on Thursday, June 1, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and Friday, June 2, at 10:00 am with services to follow at 11:00 am. Burial will follow immediately after at the Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery.
