Robert John Hamill
1966-2024
April 18, 2024, Robert “Rob” “Bobby” Hamill 57, of Egg Harbor Township, NJ, passed away at home in his sleep.
Robert was the owner of Oceanview Landscaping in Atlantic County he was born in Manhattan, NY in 1966 to Bill and June Hamill. Robert graduated from Atlantic City High School in 1985. He started at a young age delivering dry cleaning to customers in his building. His Mom passed away when he was 12 and they moved to their “weekend getaway” in Margate, New Jersey. There he had many friends, “Osborne Avenue” was the place to be. He enjoyed riding his moped…beach days, The Wildwood Boardwalk, bus rides to go skiing, roller-skating, watching movies and listening to music. He also trained at the gym. He DJ’d at “The Chez” and “Zoom” in Margate. He also dabbled in cooking. He started at the Longport Inn and mastered his skills in the casino fine dining restaurant, “Ivana’s”. In his twenties he began building his landscape business. He employed his friends, did work for his friends, and grew an amazing successful company. His handiwork is displayed up and down the streets of Margate and Ventnor and all-over Atlantic County.
In the winter of 2000, he met his wife Charlene on a flight from Philadelphia to Vegas they married in the Bahamas September 21, 2002. They enjoyed jet skiing, boating, tuna fishing, NYE parties and concerts. Off season adventures included skiing in Aspen “Snowmass”, warming up in the Caribbean, Cruising with friends, and spending quality time with family.
Robert will always be remembered as a sincere, caring, giving, fun loving person who always wanted the best for others. Robert was preceded in death by his parents William and June Hamill his father-in-law Bing Nop.
Robert is survived by Charlene, Sister Barbara Hamill nieces Alison and Danielle Naoum. Mother-in-law Betty Nop, sister-in-law Janene (Terry)Arnold, nephew Tyler and Kayla Arnold, Trevor Arnold. Jolene (Mike) Larsen nieces Amanda, Jessica, nephew Dean. Sister-in-law Lorene (Marc) Robinson nephews Chambers, Rouen, Vallen.
A Celebration of Life service will be May 5th at 1pm Birch Grove Park 1675 Burton Ave. Northfield New Jersey.
