Obituary for Ralph Edward Larned

Ralph Edward Larned– 70, of Egg Harbor Township, NJ passed away on August 10, 2022 after a short illness with his family by his side.

He was predeceased by his parents & 6 older brothers.

Ralph is survived by his wife, Marianna Larned, daughter, Kimberly Gifford (John) & granddaughter, Shelby. He is also survived by 4 younger sisters: Linda, Betty, Mary & Marilyn "Moe" as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ralph grew up working on his family's local produce farm. He began working for Shop Rite in the 1970's and was a loyal, hard working employee for over 30 years. He loved hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and friends. He was most proud of catching a 9 ft. blue marlin in the Atlantic Ocean which he had mounted & nicknamed Albert. Ralph was involved with local historical societies & had an avid interest in genealogy research. He was able to trace his ancestry back to the Mayflower's arrival in America and even further back to Europe.
Ralph also loved his church and was often seen caring for the grounds. He was considered the "docent", giving history & cemetery tours at Zion UMC. Ralph's interest in history was piqued in learning, researching & getting Zion recognized for its over 200 years of history.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM Wednesday August 17th, 2022 at Adams-Perfect Funeral Home 1650 New Road Northfield, NJ 08225. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 PM at the funeral home followed by burial at Zion Cemetery 669 Zion Rd. Egg Harbor Township, NJ 08234.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the Living Memorial Fund at Zion United Methodist Church 652 Zion Rd Egg Harbor Twp., NJ 08234.
