Obituary for Peter Louis Parras

Peter L. Parras, 79, of Egg Harbor Township, passed away on August 6, 2023 after a heroic battle with heart disease and cancer.

Peter was born on February 2, 1944 to Louis and Mary Parras in Manhattan, NY. After graduating from John L. Mott H.S. in 1962, he went on to study electrical engineering at Brooklyn Polytechnic as well as Computer Technology and Business Administration- Accounting at Suffolk Community College.

He was the devoted and loving father of Peter and Gina-Marie Parras (Michael). Peter is survived by, his sister, Anna Aligizakis (Manos), His Grandchildren, Joseph (Danielle), Kristen (Dyllan), Anthony, Peter, Christopher and Nicholas. Peter adored his great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Ryllan, Theodore, Cameron and Landon. Peter is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; as well as his partner, Anita Widecrantz. Peter was a dedicated friend, who always remembered their birthdays. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him; often known as “Uncle Peter”.

Peter was also a passionate Masonic Brother, Boy Scout leader and member of the church. (St. Paul’s Greek Orthodox Church, Hempstead, NY and later Holy Trinity, Egg Harbor Township, NJ). He could often be found at a Masonic meeting or a Boy Scout event when he wasn’t at home. Peter has many accomplishments throughout his life. He was very proud of all his hard work and dedication.

Peter served the valley as Commander in Chief and was coronated a 33rd Degree Mason in August of that same year. He earned his MSA in 2008. A longtime supporter of the kitchen crew and stage actor for many of the degrees.

Our father was a true role model who we will always look up to. The funeral service will be held at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, in New Jersey on August 11, 2023 at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Hospital and The Masonic Dyslexic Centers of New Jersey.
Dad, you are now at peace but you will live on forever in our hearts. We love you so much. Rest in peace.
