Obituary for Pasquale James Sarno

Pasquale “Pat” J. Sarno, 66, of Egg Harbor Township, NJ, passed away on December 24, 2022, after a courageous battle with a lengthy illness.

Pat was raised in Ducktown which fostered his immense pride in his Italian-American heritage. He had a fulfilling career as a cement mason which began shortly after he graduated from Holy Spirit in 1974. He always felt that one of his greatest accomplishments was his mentorship of so many in the trade and took great pride in seeing those he taught go on to succeed in the craft as well.

Pat made many friends throughout his long career and enjoyed having parties. He is remembered fondly for how welcoming he was to all and how he always made one feel like an important member of his family rather than just a friend. He will also be remembered for his strength of character, his fierce devotion and love for his family, the greatest hugs in all the world, and how once you moved past that tough exterior you found the kindest, most generous, most supportive, most giving of himself, and most loving man.

Pat was an avid sports fan and loved his Chicago Bears. But his greatest pleasure in life was being around his family, with his treasured granddaughter, Aaliyah, and grandson, Angelo, bringing him the most joy.

Pat was predeceased by his mother, Theresa DiNoto Sarno, and his sister Patricia Sarno. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Kathy Ann; his beloved daughters, Theresa Sarno, Maria Sarno and Francesca Sarno, all of Egg Harbor Township, NJ; his sons Sean Clayton of Barnegat, NJ, and Patrick Clayton of Egg Harbor Township, NJ; his brother Frank (Tricia) Sarno of Smithville, NJ; his grandchildren, Aaliyah Sarno, Angelo Sarno, Adriana Clayton, and Patrick J. Clayton; his nephews Josh Wells of Randolph, NJ, Frank (Maria) Sarno of Ventnor, NJ, and Nicholas Sarno, of Smithville, NJ; his niece Jennifer (Rob) Fricke of Ventnor, NJ, and his niece Christa Wells of Madison, NJ, who was like a daughter to him.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2022, from 9-11 am, at Adams-Perfect Funeral Home in Northfield, NJ. A service will begin at 11am.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 (https://www.google.com/maps/search/501+St.+Jude+Place,+Memphis,+TN%0D%0A38105?entry=gmail&source=g)
