Mrs. Nancy Truex, 93, of Northfield, died peacefully in the presence of family on Sunday, October 2, at Woodview Estates Assisted Living in Mays Landing. She was the wife of the late James P. Truex and the daughter of Daniel L. Snyder and Edna K. Cassel.

A lifelong resident of Northfield, she was a 1947 graduate of Pleasantville High School, later attending the Mihich School of Music in Atlantic City.

An accomplished pianist, organist, and choir director, Mrs. Truex served as Minister of Music for 51 years at Central United Methodist Church in Linwood. After learning piano at an early age, she excelled quickly and became an accompanist for soloists and choirs as well as giving private lessons for many years. She was especially adept at sight-reading. Many students will remember her fondly as their piano teacher.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Richard Snyder, and Donald Snyder. She is survived by ten nieces and one nephew.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 29, at Central United Methodist Church. Visitation starts at 10 with service at 11. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the music ministry at Central United Methodist Church, 5 Marvin Ave., Linwood, NJ.
