He confessed Christ at an early age and until his death was a member of Second Baptist Church of Atlantic City under Pastor Rev. Collins A. Days, Sr. Maurrell was employed and retired from Wheaton Corporation where he worked for 20 years. He later worked for Bally's Casino in Atlantic City.

He was preceded in death by six brothers: Eugene, Timothy, Cecil, Freddie, Van, and Harold.

He leaves to cherish his memories a devoted wife, Lucille English of Pleasantville; sisters Jackie Fielder and Roberta Tate, both of California; brothers Theodore English (Ernestine) of Ft. He will be missed but never forgotten.

Maurrell loved sports and was a die-hard Philadelphia Eagles fan. He loved the game of football, but what he loved most of all was his family. To God be the Glory for the life he lived.
