Obituary for Maria Miranda (Miranda)

Maria Miranda, 86, passed away peacefully August 24, 2020 in her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on July 2, 1934 in Cayey, Puerto Rico to Esteban Miranda and Ana Rivera. Maria moved to Atlantic City, New Jersey in 1974.

Maria was a home maker. She loved to love on people, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a special connection with each one of her children. She was the matriarch of her family. Everyone always came together for Maria also known as “BIG MAMA”.

Maria loved shopping, jewelry, getting dressed up and helping to raise her grandchildren. She had a heart of gold. She was a woman full of wisdom and knew just what to say. She enjoyed cooking for her family and would always try to feed people. She loved when her family would come to visit her.

Maria also loved to party. Her favorite holiday was Christmas Eve because her family would all come together to celebrate. She was the life of the party. She enjoyed dancing and making everyone laugh. She was a child of God and love to attend the Catholic church with her daughter’s.

Maria is survived by her youngest sister Mercedes Miranda (Puerto Rico); her son Luis A. Gonzalez; her daughters Adelaida Gonzalez, Ana M. Gonzalez, Myrta Gonzalez-Santiago (husband Harry Santiago), Carmen M. Gonzalez (husband Lio Ortiz), Rosa M. Gonzalez, Teresa Gonzalez; her grandchildren Jose (Lito), Yolanda, Maribel, Edith, Felix (Pichon), Elizabeth, Manuel (Toky), Edwin (Pito), Oscar (Moyo), Alexandro (Sandro), Carlos Sr.(Alexis), Nelson (Mach), Harry Jr. (Bimbo), Vicente (Vin), Jessica (Mama), Juan-Carlos (Sonero), Joselito, Wilfredo Jr. (Sito), Krystal, Xiomara and a host of great- grandchildren. Maria Miranda will be joining her parents Esteban Miranda and Ana Rivera, younger sister Aurora Miranda, three brothers Carmelo, Luis and Ramon Miranda, her eldest son Felix Gonzalez.

Maria will be missed by family and numerous friends.

Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 12 a.m., Thursday August 27, 2020. Funeral service will be held 12 p.m. Thursday, August 27, 2020, at Adams-Perfect Funeral Homes.
