Survived by her sister Elizabeth Mentkowski (Lawrence) of North Tonawanda NY
Daughters Connie Gothard of Niagara Falls NY
Catherine Portock (James) of Linwood NJ and
Cate Christie Little Rock, Arkansas
4 Grandchildren Randy, Sydney, Rylee and Cassidy and
many nieces and nephews.
Lovingly referred to as Jo or Josie by her family she worked many years as an Executive Secretary in many large firms in Niagara Falls NY including Bell Aerospace. Her most recent job before retirement was as a Security Investigator with SAIC of Victor NY until she retired. She served in the U.S. Army Reserves during the Vietnam War Era. She also lived in California and Key West Florida with her Daughter Catherine.
Her main passion was her family. She loved to spend time with her brother and sisters laughing and telling jokes and spending time with her children and grandchildren traveling to Florida and California to spend time with them as often as she could and enjoyed her time with her nieces and nephews. She was always reading a good book and making her kids fudge. She had a deep love for music and going to live shows.
Josie was an amazing Mom, Grandma, Sister and Aunt.
She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.
A celebration of her life will be held in her hometown of Lockport NY at a later date
