Lori Ayres, 60, of Northfield, Lori Ann Ayres (Santa Maria) 60 - passed away on Thursday, April 9. Lori was born on March 21, 1961 in Atlantic City. She was raised in Ventnor and settled in Chelsea Heights. Lori attended Our Lady Star of the Sea School then graduated top of her class from Atlantic City High in 1979. She earned her B.A. from Stockton College and her Master's from Rutgers University while working full time and raising a family. Lori really loved the Phillies and the Flyers, especially Mel Bridgeman. She also loved going to Albany Ave. beach with her sisters and going on family vacations. Lori taught Honors History and coached softball and cheerleading at Mainland High school. She loved all her girls and cherished those times. Over the years she received countless letters from former students about how grateful they were for her guidance. Anyone who met her instantly loved her. Lori is survived by the love of her life, her husband John; son John Jr.; daughter Kelly; mother Margaret Maury; sisters Lisa Mooney (Tim) and Linda Taggart (Joe); stepsister Jeannine Williams (Frank); sister-in-law Nancy Palamaro (Bob); and many wonderful nieces, nephews, and cousins. She also leaves behind cherished friends Theresa Baxter, Donna Coffey, Sue Johnston and Linda Powers. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
