Obituary for John Roy Hafner Jr.

John R. Hafner Jr, 76, of Northfield, passed away at home on November 1, 2022.
John was born on April 6, 1946 to John and Rose Hafner in Neptune, NJ and raised in Red Bank, NJ.
John joined the Northfield Police Department and retired as a Sgt. in 2000 after 26 years of service. He was known to his co-workers by his nickname "Happy Jack". He enjoyed teaching at the Atlantic County Vocational School, fishing with his family and friends and working in his shop making beautiful pieces of wood work.
John joined The United States Army where he received several medals including the Good Conduct medal, National Defense Service medal and Rifle Marksman ribbon.
John also enjoyed being the Northfield Police Department Range Master, and a member of the Volunteer Forest Fire Association, Civil Defense, CPR instructor, Dare teacher in the Northfield schools, Organizer of the Hooked on Fishing tournament for many years, NRA, and so many other organizations.
John was predeceased by his wife Toshiko, parents, John Sr. and Rose Hafner and brothers James and Burt Hafner. He is survived by his children Linda Warriner, Victoria Moran (Joe) Jennifer Shaw (Fran), Jacqueline Hafner, John Hafner, Angelina Hafner and his many fur children. He will continually be loved by his grandchildren Danielle (Chino), Jason (Nicole), Wesley, Patrick, Samil, Haley, Meah and Leah and many great grandchildren.
