Obituary for James Howard Simmons

James Howard Simmons, from Rhinebeck, NY went to be with the love of his life, Marianne, on May 10, 2022, while surrounded by his family. He served in the Army from 1954 to 1976, where he proudly fought for our country in Korea and Vietnam. He received many honors and accommodations during his service. After his retirement from the Army, he had a long career with First National Bank in Security and went on to continue this profession at Shore Medical Center. He was a past Post Commander of VFW 8098 and was always helping a Veteran in any way. He is survived by his daughter Sylvia Buzzi (Anthony), his sons Juergen Simmons, his granddaughters Nicole, Katie Schusler (Jared), Taylor, and Jessica Watson (Johnathan). He leaves behind his great grandkids Jayce, Jaxon, Kassidy, Johnathan, Tatiana, Gabriella, Cannon Arlis, Silas. He is also survived by his brother Dave Van Wagner and many nieces and nephews, as well as our life long friend, Debi Wharton (Carl). Although we will miss him dearly, we are comforted to know that he is reunited with the love of his life and will always cherish his memories. Arrangements have been entrusted to Adams-Perfect Funeral Homes, Inc. located in Northfield. Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 17th from 11-1pm at Adams-Perfect Funeral Homes, Inc. with a service to follow. Interment will be Tuesday, May 17th following the service at Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery in Mays Landing. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity.
