James Schwarz, 78 of Egg Harbor Township, NJ peacefully passed into the arms of our Heavenly Father on Thursday, December 8, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Although gone from this earth, he created a lifetime of special memories which will always remain in our hearts.
Our beloved Jimbo was born on February 19, 1944 in Kingston, PA, the oldest son of James Arthur Schwarz and Berniece McLaughlin Schwarz. Jimbo was preceded in death by his parents and his son, James Matthew Schwarz.
He was affectionately called “Pop” by those who loved him. He graduated from St. James High School where he was a member of the school band. He then entered the U.S. Air Force and achieved the rank of Airman First Class and was honorably discharged after four years. He returned to Chester where he joined the Chester Police Force. He was promoted to detective and served his city proudly for over ten years.
Jimbo moved to Ocean City New Jersey and was a Security Guard at Resorts International Casino in Atlantic Casino. After many years at Resorts, he moved to Florida and worked at the Hard Rock Casino in Tampa where he was security shift manager. He was loved by many of his work buddies and was the life of the party for everyone who was around him. Fun times at Scoreboards where he liked to unwind will certainly be remembered. Many great birthday parties were well attended by his friends. He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, and especially loved his Eagles “Iggles”. He even had his own special touchdown dance, and the family would join him.
After retirement, Jimbo moved back to New Jersey to be closer to his family. He is remembered as a devoted and loving father to his children. He created “Jimbo Week” which was the week each year that his children, grandchildren and many family and friends would spend together for great meals and family fun. He is survived by his daughters, Michelle, Kelle, Alana and Tammy, his son Matthew, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Dan (Connie), sister, Rebecca (Don), his beloved dog Lola, and left to cherish his memory are many nieces and nephews.
