Obituary for Gertrude Kairis

Gertrude (Trudy) Kairis Born August 12,1938 in Yugoslavia, immigrated to the US in 1947. Gertrude grew up in Williamstown NJ with her family. Gertrude enjoyed German Dancing with the dance club "G.T.V. Almrausch" and was even featured on the front page of the Philadelphia Inquirer. She married John in 1965 and moved to Philadelphia, where they raised 3 children. Gertrude was a seamstress at M & M Mills for many years. She enjoyed many hobbies such as crafting, sewing and crocheting. She was the best cook and baker, everyone always enjoyed her cookies at Christmas time.
Gertrude was a very giving person, who put others in front of her own needs. She was know to everyone as OMA which in German is Grandmother, as she treated all who knew her like their grandmother. Gertrude has 7 wonderful grandchildren , who she adored and loved deeply. Gertrude is survived by her loving husband John, her children Michael (Amy), Eva (Gerald) and Matthew (Lynn); Grandchildren Melissa, Kelsea, Bradley, Christopher, Samantha, Matthew Jr and Lincoln.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 3- 4 PM at Adams-Perfect Funeral Homes, Inc. 1650 New Road Northfield, NJ 08225. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
