Obituary for Frank Joseph Novasack

NOVASACK, DR. FRANK JR. - 67 of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away on Saturday, May 15, 2021, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Somers Point, NJ to the late Frank Sr. and Ann Pileggi Novasack, he moved to Pittsburgh 35 years ago after living in South Jersey for more than 30 years.

He was a practicing Doctor of Chiropractic care for nearly forty years, at Family Chiropractic Center having treated thousands of patients. He served as a frequent author, speaker and advocate on many chiropractic and health topics. He was a graduate of Pleasantville High School, St. Joseph's University, and Adio College of Chiropractic. A passionate and gifted musician and songwriter, he was an organist, pianist, and choir director for more than ten different Catholic Churches in the Pittsburgh Diocese as well as having musical affiliation with other Protestant and Nondenominational Churches. He composed dozens of songs for Catholic Masses and related Liturgical music. He held a strong desire to share his musical gifts to lead others to a greater spiritual reality and existence. He will be remembered for sharing his musical gifts as well as his sarcasm, wit, and laughter.

Dr. Frank Novasack Jr. is survived by his brother and sister, Dr. George (Nancy) Novasack, and Maria (Kenneth) Basche; Aunt, Alma Novasack; cousins Frank Hoff, Pauline Baldwin, and Noreen Goslee; nieces and nephews, Dr. Mark (Kathleen) Novasack, Lauren (Joseph) O'Neill, Helena (Christopher) Poda, and Dr. Andrea Basche; (Aaron Price), grandnieces and grandnephews, Juliette, Bennett, and Evangeline Novasack, Emma, Logan and Kelly O'Neill, and Kiera and Owen Poda; and many caring Catholic congregation members in the Pittsburgh Diocese. He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Ann Novasack.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Asbury Heights for the compassionate care given to Frank. Mass at 10:00 am on Monday May 24th, will be celebrated at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, in Linwood, NJ. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery following Mass. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
